How To Pack A Box of Books

Always use small boxes to pack books. This is a 1.5 cubic foot small box that you can get at many packing stores.

  • Sort books by size

  • Place largest books flat on the bottom, smaller books on top

  • Place books upright only to fill gaps on the sides as needed

  • Use crumpled packing paper to fill remaining gaps and ensure a firm top of box.

  • Tape securely

  • Label the contents on the top and one side.

Book boxes are HEAVY. They can easily be 30 - 40lbs in a small 1.5 cubic foot box, depending if they’re paperback or hardcover. You should only ever place books in a small book box, nothing larger. Why? You can get hurt! The box can also damage other boxes that they are stacked on and severely hurt your back if moving it.

Have fun packing! Or call us to do it. We’re pros 😎 (510) 229-7321.
